Rico - the mountain that eats men
Since the mid 16th century men have mined the mountain that
dominates Potosi and is called Cerro Rico for the wealth of silver it
contains. Estimates are that
more than 8 million people have died in the shafts or from silicosis.
Today about 14'000 men are still working under archaic conditions in
the mountain and are still dying...
